Marijuana: The Gateway Drug?

Team: 17

School: Centennial High

Area of Science: Health

Interim: Project Definition:
Everybody says that marijuana is "the gatewat drug" meaning that once a person does marijuana, they move on to more intense drugs like cocaine and heroine. According to websites ive visited, most people who do cocaine or heroine admited to using marijuana at a young age and later moved on to the drugs they are currently using.

The goal of this project is to help figure out how many people out of our "control group" who used marijuana will eventually go on to use three drugs: cocaine, heroine, and ecstacy. then out of those people how many will continue to use them for years.

Progress to date:
Currently we have visited many different sites that havent given us very reliable information. We are looking to search how many people have been arrested for drug charges and of those people how many used marijuana earlier in their life.

Expected results:
After we get our info we hope to start programming or project.
