The Problem
-maintaining glucose levels in diabetics using natural remedies
According to BestHealthMagazine.com diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions and is directly associated with blood glucose levels. There are 25.8 million children and adults in the United States—8.3% of the population have diabetes. For the 18.8 million people diagnosed, there is 7.0 million people that remain Undiagnosed as well as 79 million people considered to be pre-diabetes, which means that your blood Sugar level is higher than normal, but it's not yet high enough to be classified as type 2 Diabetes.

How we plan on modeling:
-We are going to use Scratch and Star Logo to graph and record results of the natural remedies effectiveness on maintaining a balanced level of blood glucose. After receiving very constructive feedback we’re planning to demonstrate the interactions of molecules found in the natural remedies and the insulin producing cells.

Our Progress
So far we have done most of our research, on finding different natural remedies and recording their effectiveness for maintaining a balanced level of blood glucose and the most effective are bananas according to umm.edu the banana has been proved to help reduce blood pressure. The average person needs three to four servings of potassium-rich fruits and vegetables each day. Some experts believe doubling this amount may benefit your blood pressure. If bananas aren't your favorite bunch of fruit, try dried apricots, raisins, currants, orange juice, and spinach, boiled potatoes with skin, baked sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, and winter squash. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum). In a clinical study of 60 people with type 2 diabetes, intake of 1, 3, or 6 grams of cinnamon per day reduced glucose, triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol. Other clinical studies have found similar results. As a result, experts claim that cinnamon may play an important role in regulating blood sugar in people with diabetes.
