New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge

Flesh eating Disease

Team: 75

School: Mesa Mid

Area of Science: Biology

Interim:

Problem definition: Our project will be on a contagious cannibalism disease. It is where people eat themselves and others. It can be spread by biting someone else. It may be spread very fast through the states. We don’t know if it’s true and if it’s still spreading.

Problem solution: We think the people suffering the disease can recover from it. We have researched the topic and learned that some people who had other bad diseases have recovered from it, and so we expect to find that for this disease.

Progress to date: We have learned that people get autocannibalism by being bitten by another person; when the germs go into the person who was bitten they get the disease; when they get the disease, they start eating their own skin and others. We are restricted by the websites we can view, by the school’s internet , so we will have to do more research from home.

Expected results: We expect to show that this disease is curable, but is spreading through the nation. The chemicals from the disease, and the infection, will create scars and maybe have bones showing, and the people might need surgery to recover.
